About Us: A Message From Michael O'Hara, the Owner of McKenzie Electrical
Contracting Services
McKenzie Electrical Services is a company which originated in Ashburn, Virginia in 2007. Prior to that, McKenzie Electrical Services was named O'Harelectric Contractors, LLC. O'Harelectric is named after the owner, Michael O'Hara, the person responsible for writing this text on this page. The reason why our named changed was simply because my daughter was born, and her name is McKenzie Lauren O'Hara. With names like McKenzie Lauren O'Hara (daughter), Shannon Dawn O'Hara (my loving wife), and Michael Patrick O'Hara (me, the owner of McKenzie Electrical Contracting Services), it's relatively easy to see why I've applied an Irish theme on the pages of my website and throughout my company.
As a master electrician with 15 years experience, I know the way a good majority of the electrical services work. They like to give you a price that doesn't equal the bill at the end of the job. It's truly unfortunate and sad that this happens to us consumers, not only in dealing with contracting services (such as an electrical company), but everywhere in all industries you can name. What ever happened to the times when a price given to you was the price paid by you. The examples set forth by the major financial institutions has now trickled down to every industry there is. There's always the fine print...that one page all the way at the end of 51 pages of tiny print that has some sort of disclaimer allowing that company or service to get away with essentially lying. The only ones who seem to notice and seem to care are us, the consumers, who have no other choice but to adhere to the unsound business practices which are employed everywhere you can possibly think of.
At McKenzie Electrical, I have put my foot down in this regard. With my company, you will not be told a price at the beginning of the job, and receive a bill at the end of the job much higher than the original set price. There is no fine print in my contracts to you. There is nothing but honesty and respect given to you because in reality I am you...a consumer who has been stomped and trampled upon time and time again by these legalized crooks called 'business'. The only way I would ever raise my price on you is if in the middle of the job, you ask me to do something in addition to what we have agreed upon on paper. With me, it just straight up business. I give you a price, and from there you either agree upon that price or you don't. Never have I raised a price from some fine mumble-jumble written on page 37 of a much-longer-than necessary contract.
In addition to my committment to an honest price, McKenzie Electrical goes out of its way to keep our customers happy with our services. If I or any of my employees do something that you do not like, please, by all means, inform me of the problem. From there I will either try to correct the problem OR refund you your money back 100%. I am very strict in this regard. My prime motivation with this business is keeping my customers, or my neighbors as I like to call you, completely happy.

McKenzie Electric, as of the time of this new website update (06/24/2011) has 26 steady, full-time employees. We have switched from new construction to retrofitting primarily. A good majority of our work deals with residential electrical work, but we also do commercial work whenever given the opportunity to do so.
After the Great Famine of '08, we have became all the more strict in regard to keeping our customers happy. We never want to lose a customer and we always want the customers in the past whom we have worked for to refer us as much as possible. In order for our customers to do that, we have to outperform all the other electrical companies operating in Loudoun County, and this, my friends, is what our creed is about - you.
We will always work with you on pricing and try to give you the lowest price we possibly can.
If you haven't used our services before, give us a chance, and you may be amazed at what you will receive from us.
Give us a call at (571) 762-3336, or send us an email at [email protected].
(In case you are wondering why our email ends with Take That Junk, McKenzie Electrical shares its email service with Take That Junk, a second business created by Mckenzie Electrical's owner, Mike O'Hara, in 2006.)
